This weekend, Diocesan Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian will ordain Deacon Vahe Bagdasarian and Deacon Saro Kalayjian to the holy priesthood of the Armenian Church. Fr. Mardiros Chevian and Mr. Krikor Kucukyan will serve as the sponsoring priest and godfather for Dn. Vahe. For Dn. Saro, those roles will be taken up by Fr. Vasken Kouzouian and Dr. Zaven Kalayjian.
Following the 40-day seclusion period at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, in Armonk, NY, the new priests will go to their assignments as parish pastors. Fr. Bagdasarian will serve as pastor of the Soorp Haroutiun Church in Orlando, FL, effective September 1. Fr. Kalayjian will serve as pastor of the St. Mesrob Church in Racine, WI, where he has been serving as deacon-in-charge since July 1.
