There is solely one sign in Turkey where “Armenian
Kingdom” is written. The sign on the wall of the Surp Boğos (St. Paul) Church,
which was built during the reign of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia and which
has been turned into a mosque in Tarsus (Tarson, in Armenian), Turkey, reads,
in Turkish and English, that the church was built in the 11th century, during
the reign of the Armenian Kingdom, by King Oshin.
This is a unique sign because “Armenian,” or “Armenia,”
is not noted at any historical and cultural monuments in Turkey. And “Armenian
church” was added on the sign at the Holy Cross Armenian church on Akhtamar
Island on Lake Van, only in 2015.
