Գերյարգելի եւ Գերապատիւ Վարդապետներ, Առաքինազարդ Քոյրեր, Սիրելիներս ի Քրիստոս՝ հայրեր, եղբայրներ եւ քոյրեր, Այս օրերուն կ'ապրինք դժնդակ ժամանակներ... Աշխարհի վրայ ամենուրեք կը խօսուի ճգնաժամի մասին:

 ՀԻՒՍԻՍԱՅԻՆ ԱՄԵՐԻԿԱՅԻ ՏԻՐԱՄԱՅՐ ՆԱՐԵԿԻ

ՀԱՅ ԿԱԹՈՂԻԿԷ ԱՌԱՋՆՈՐԴԱՐԱՆ

Գերյարգելի եւ Գերապատիւ Վարդապետներ,

Առաքինազարդ Քոյրեր,

Սիրելիներս ի Քրիստոս՝ հայրեր, եղբայրներ եւ քոյրեր,

Այս օրերուն կ'ապրինք դժնդակ ժամանակներ... Աշխարհի վրայ ամենուրեք կը խօսուի ճգնաժամի մասին:

Շատ մը երկիրներու եւ յատկապէս Միջին Արեւելքի մէջ մեր քրիստոնեայ եղբայրներն ու քոյրերը օրնիբուն կ'ապրին հալածանք իրենց քրիստոնէական հաւատքին համար: Ոմանք նոյնիսկ սպաննուեցան անողոք կերպով, ուրիշներ առեւանգուեցան եւ շատերն ալ տեղահան եղան ու կորսնցուցին ամէն բան...

Եւրոպայի եւ Ամերիկայի երկիրները կ'անցնին տնտեսական անստոյգ ճգնաժամէ մը եւ օրէ օր կ'աւելնայ թիւը մարդոց որոնք ծանրօրէն կը զգան անոր հետեւանքները իրենց ընտանիքներուն եւ միջավայրին մէջ:

Նոյնիսկ ամէնօրեայ փոխյարաբերութիւններուն մէջ մարդիկ՝ դրժելով ուրիշը, կը միտին մերժումի, անվստահութեան, յանդուգն դատողութեան եւ եսակեդրոն ըլլալու:

Սիրելիներս, Քրիստոսի Լոյսը այս Սուրբ Ծննդեան տօնին, մեզի՝ հաւատացեալներուս կը տրուի որպէսզի անորմով առաջնորդուած ապրինք աշխարհի այս դժնդակ ժամանակները եւ քաջութեամբ դիմագրաւենք մեր դիմաց կուտակուող մարտահրաւէրները:

             Պետրոս Առաքեալը մեզի կոչ կ'ուղղէ «միշտ պատրաստ ըլլալու պատասխան տալու ամէն անոնց՝ որոնք կը հարցնեն մեր Յոյսի խօսքին մասին» (Ա. Պետրոս 3, 15): Որպէս քրիստոնեաներ պարտականութիւնն ունինք յարատեւօրէն իրականացնելու մեր վկայի դերը: Ճիշտ այս է մեր առաքելութիւնը ներկայ ժամանակներուն մէջ: Որովհետեւ մեր յոյսը կը դնենք Աստուծոյ վրայ եւ ոչ թէ այս աշխարհի ուժերուն, տնտեսական իրավիճակին կամ քաղաքականութեան վրայ, կարողութիւնն ունինք նուիրուելու համբերութեամբ եւ առանց յուսալքուելու արդարութեան եւ խաղաղութեան համար:

Յիսուս, Քրիստոսը, իր խոնարհ, պարզ ու աղքատիկ ծնունդովը Բեթղեհէմի քարայրին մէջ, եկաւ կիսելու մարդկութեան կեանքը, ուր կը շաղախուին ուրախութիւն եւ տրտմութիւն,  անձկութիւն եւ յոյս: Անոր ներկայութեան ապահովութիւնը մեր մէջ կը սնուցանէ եւ կ'աճեցնէ յոյսը:  Եւ, եթէ մեր յոյսը հիմնուած է «Աստուծոյ արքայութեան վրայ որ կու գայ», Ան կը դառնայ անսպառ աղբիւր մը ուժականութեան, հնարամտութեան, խանդի եւ սիրոյ դիմագրաւելու համար ապագայի մարտահրաւէրները:

Մաղթանքս է բոլորիդ որ ապրիք խաղաղ եւ յուսալի Ծննդեան տօն մը եւ թող որ եկող նոր տարին լուսաւորուի Բեթղեհէմի քարայրի Մանուկին աստուածային յոյսով:

Very Reverend and Reverend Fathers,

Reverend Sisters,

Beloved in Christ, fathers, brothers and sisters,

Nowadays we are living in dreadful times... Everywhere around the world, people are speaking about crisis.

In many countries and especially in the Middle East, our Christian brothers and sisters are being persecuted daily for their Christian faith.  Some have been brutally murdered, others have been kidnapped, and a large number of people have been displaced and have lost everything.

In Europe and in the Americas, the countries are going through an uncertain economic crisis, and with each passing day, more and more people are feeling its heavy burden and consequences on their families and environment. Moreover, in their daily relationship with others, there is a tendency of rejection, mistrust, hasty judgments and selfishness.

Dear brothers and sisters, at Christmas the light of Christ is given to us faithful, so that we may be guided by it in living our lives during these difficult times, and face our daily challenges with courage.

St. Peter the apostle teaches us to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that we have” (1 Peter 3:15).  As Christians we have the responsibility to unceasingly live our vocation as witnesses of the truth.  This is exactly our mission in the present time. Because our hope is in God and not in the forces of this world, its economic situations or politics, therefore, we are able to dedicate ourselves with patience and without despair for peace and justice.

Jesus Christ, with his humble and simple birth in the poverty of the manger in Bethlehem, came to share the reality of human life, where happiness and afflictions, anxiety and hope, are intertwined. His presence among us sustains and makes our hope grow stronger. And if our hope is founded on “God’s kingdom to come”, He will be for us an everlasting source of energy and creativity to overcome all the future challenges with enthusiasm and love.

My wish for you all is to live a Christmas full of hope and peace. And may the hope of the divine Child of Bethlehem enlighten the New Year to come.
