Building upon your first round of robust
grassroots activism, which helped secure timely U.S. condemnation of the recent
assault on the Armenian town of Kessab Syria, the ANCA has escalated its
#SaveKessab advocacy by calling upon the leadership of the U.S. House and
Senate intelligence committees to launch formal inquiries into Turkey's role in
this al-Qaeda linked aggression.
As you know, in the wake of the March
21st attack on Kessab, launched from Turkey, that drove over 2,000 Christian
Armenians from their homes, the ANCA held meetings and launched protests
calling on the Administration and Congress to confront Turkey's role in
anti-Armenian violence. The State Department issued a statement that it is
"deeply troubled" about these attacks, as did America's Ambassador to
the United Nations, Samantha Power, but stopped short of criticizing Turkey's
role. Leading members of Congress, including Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman
of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, have strongly condemned attacks on
Armenians, as have tens of thousands of activists across various social media
platforms.
Join with the ANCA in demanding that the
U.S. government get to the bottom of this matter. Call on your Members of
Congress to publicly and prominently request that the House and Senate
intelligence panels launch formal inquiries into Turkey's role in recent
al-Qaeda linked attacks on Christian Armenians in Kessab, Syria. Take Action Now!
