Board
Policy Forum Armenia (PFA) is pleased to announce that
Dr. Hrach Gregorian, a member of the Graduate Faculty of the School of Peace
and Conflict Management at Royal Roads University and a Research Fellow at the
Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary, has
joined the organization as the newest member of its Academic Board. Dr.
Gregorian served as one of the founding directors of the United States
Institute of Peace and developed the Institute’s first professional training
program in conflict analysis and negotiation. He is also one of the co-founders
of the Alliance for Peacebuilding, the largest US-based membership organization
of institutions and professionals in the field of peace and conflict
management.
Dr. Gregorian’s work on stability and peace operations in
fragile states has taken him to over twenty-five countries. For over three
decades, he has been active in deep cultural and risk analysis in various parts
of the world, including in Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, and Central
and East Asia. Dr. Gregorian’s recent publications have focused on interagency
coordination in peace operations, capacity-building in fragile states, and
energy and conflict. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Brandeis
University and B.A. at Boston University.
PFA's co-founder Vladimir Shekoyan noted that PFA is
proud to have an academic and practitioner of Dr. Gregorian’s caliber join the
organization. “Hrach’s knowledge and experience is invaluable and we look
forward to working with him to advance PFA’s objectives of offering innovative
analysis and practical recommendations for public policy design and
implementation in Armenia,” said Shekoyan.
“It is an honor to be joining an organization with the
vision and commitment to humanistic values that are hallmarks of PFA,” said Dr.
Gregorian. “PFA is a thought leader in the fight for freedom, democracy, and
economic modernization in Armenia. I hope to contribute in some small way to
its work in advancing peace and genuine security for our people.”
