Next week St. Mary Church of Washington, DC, will host
the 113th Diocesan Assembly, bringing together Armenian Church leaders from
throughout the Eastern Diocese. The Assembly will convene from May 6 to 8, and
will be preceded by the annual Clergy Conference, which will be held from May 4
to 6. The Diocesan Women's Guild General Assembly also convenes during the
week.
In addition to the regular business sessions and reports
from Diocesan organizations, the clergy and delegates will take part in the
events of the national observance of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide
(see item below).
A highlight of the Assembly will be a hrashapar service
to officially welcome His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and
Catholicos of All Armenians, on Wednesday evening, May 6. His Holiness will
address the Assembly on Thursday, May 7.
