ACYOA General Assembly and Sports Weekend

This year’s ACYOA General Assembly and Sports Weekend is hosted by the ACYOA Seniors of Holy Martyrs Church of Bayside, NY, over Memorial Day weekend, May 22-26.

General Assembly sessions will begin this evening at the Diocesan Center in New York City, and continue throughout the day on Friday. More than 80 delegates from ACYOA chapters across the parishes are expected to take part. Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Diocesan Primate, will preside over the assembly proceedings.

Athletic competitions will be held at Manhattan’s Baruch College. Other events are also planned throughout the weekend. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Holy Martyrs Church on Sunday, May 25. Archbishop Yeghishe Gizirian will install the newly elected ACYOA Central Council in the church sanctuary.

Close to 500 young adults are expected to attend the weekend’s events. Lorie Odabashian, the Diocese’s coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, will be present at the various meetings and activities. To learn more, visit www.acyoa.org, or log onto the host committee’s Facebook page.
