Dear Diocesan Donors:
At the Eastern Diocese our donors are our most important
resource. Through their generosity, our donors not only support the Eastern
Diocese as an institution, but also actively preserve Armenian faith and
culture here in America. Every year we ask for your help—and every year you
respond generously by supporting our Annual Appeal and other fundraising
initiatives.
We’re tremendously grateful, and we want to take this
moment to ask you: How are we doing? We want to receive your thoughts and
feedback on your experience, both as a donor and as a church member. Please

reproduced from our most recent Diocesan calendar.
We are currently gearing up to host the Diocese’s
inaugural “Donor Recognition Day” on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Diocesan
Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian will preside over the gathering on the
outdoor plaza of St. Vartan Cathedral in New York City, in the company of
clergy and lay leaders, staff members, and local young professionals. I want to
extend a personal invitation to every one of our donors to join us on that
occasion. Enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres, and conversation as you see for
yourselves the significant role you play in the church’s life.
Donor Recognition Day is just one of several upcoming
events the Diocese is planning for the fall. We look forward to welcoming you
to our events marking the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, which
include a bike ride to Governors Island on Saturday, September 17, as well as
an art exhibit and concert on Wednesday, September 21. A “Mozart Requiem”
performance by the St. Vartan Cathedral Choir will take place on Saturday,
